This week is literally STACKED with concerts! Whether you're into EDM, Rock, Hip Hop, and so on, there's atleast one concert for you. A bunch of these shows are sold out, but thanks to the power of the internet, there's usually a way to find tickets. Check out this list below and RAGE ON.
Of course everyone knows about the much anticipated Skylab: Blackout show at the Denver Coliseum on the 22nd. Featuring a huge line up (as always) this show is going to be out of this world (pun intended). With 3 stages this concert is turning into its own mini festival! Last year the production was spectacular and we've heard this year is only going to get better. We couldn't gather much information on the specifics but it's said to be "as if you were in a planetarium"! That sounds pretty cool to me.. There's also a Skylab kickoff party this Thursday, the 20th at Beta. The residents Ecotek and Trajikk will be holding down the club for the night along with The Real Wolfe. This concert has come a long way through its history and is becoming one of the premier EDM shows in the state and even starting to rival Global Dance Music's other big show, Global Dance Festival. Tickets are still on sale and are running $68.16 (after the fees) for a GA ticket.
Up next is the 3 day performance of Further at Red Rocks from Friday to Sunday. As most of you probably know, this band was the continuation of the Grateful Dead when Jerry Garcia passed. Phil Lesh and Bob Weir still front the band and they keep the memories alive playing some of the great songs of the past as well as adding their own new songs in there. Unfortunatelyboth Friday and Saturday are sold out, but there's one more day to get your Furthur fix. These guys are amazing live and something definitely worth looking into if you've never heard of them or seen them in concert! Tickets are $72.40 (after the fees), so a little pricey but well worth it.Of course everyone knows about the much anticipated Skylab: Blackout show at the Denver Coliseum on the 22nd. Skylab: Blackout
Sunday Sept. 23, 2012
Last featured concert this week is the crew of OFWGKTA, or Odd Future. This group has taken the media and Hip Hop by storm with their unique rap style and have been featured on a bunch of TV shows like the Late Night show and Fuel TV. They've already done stops around the world and even have their own TV show on Adult Swim called the Loiter Squad. Tyler, the Creator (one of the group starters) said they have about 60 members in the group, though most don't tour or perform all the time. Know for not holding anything back this group puts on a show. With 2 days at the Fox Theatre this show is going to get rowdy and I wouldn't be surprised if you saw the crew running around the Hill after the show and partying with everyone.
