Bay area rap and Dubstep in one concert? We were a bit weary of the idea at first too. But if they are going to try to pull an cross-genre concert like this, at least it's with Zion I right? I happen to love the music of both genres and these two artists, but I could easily imagine a bunch of you are probably pretty pissed about the idea. Saying stuff like "They're trying to bring Bay area rap back into the spotlight, and this is not the way" or simply just "WTF?". And yeah, I'm still a bit concerned as to how they plan to pull this off. Especially with Minnesota opening. In my opinion, a dubstep concert not only attracts a much more energy fueled crowd, but also puts on performances that spurs intensity. To have a crowd like that go straight into low-key Bay area rap right afterwards... I don't know. Not to say Zion I doesn't rally the masses in their performances, but definitely in a different way.
Well, regardless of the semantics of this event, the 'Shadowboxing Tour' will be performing at the Aggie Theater and the Boulder Theater on October 24th and 25th respectively. Tickets at the Aggie will be $15 and $22 at the Boulder Theater of which both are on sale. This is definitely going to be a good show and, especially since it's so close to campuses, you don't have to go searching for designated drivers for the night.
