The Weekly Scene (4/30/12)

It's that time of year again, but don't let finals get you down because there's a lot of great shows coming up. Of course one of the hottest weekends for concerts so far this year has to occur on the week surrounding finals.... But fortunately, most of these concerts are good enough to incentivize even the laziest procrastinator to get studying early.

The first concert I would highly recommend is Cosmic Gate at Beta on Thursday. Cosmic Gate is one of my favorite EDM artists out there and, having seen them probably 5-6 times in concert, I can guarantee they never fail to impress me. If you have the time or need a great set to listen to while studying, check out the video below from the last time Cosmic Gate was in town at Beta. Tickets are $15 so make sure to get them before they sell out!

Actually, I'm just going to go ahead and recommend everything at Beta this weekend. Emalkay and Chris Lake on the 4th and 5th respectively are both incredible performances. So whichever concert(s) works around your exam schedule should be well worth it. Both of these concerts are $10.


Bluebird, courtesy of BoulderAfterDark, will be hosting Minnesota on May 5th. Tickets are $20 so if you need a little dub to get down to, either this or Emalkay will be your best bet.
