You have probably already heard the news from CU about kicking the 420 gathering off campus. The university has decided to shut down the "public" campus on this day because of disruption to the campus. A colleague of ours who is related to a Boulder police officer has notified us that police from Longmont, Boulder, and Aurora will be in full SWAT gear barricading the campus. As many of you have read in the countless news articles and emails, they will also be laying down fish fertilizer on Norlin and requiring checkpoints for all individuals entering campus to check student IDs. While they are spending extensive amounts of money and going to extreme lengths to make sure this event doesn't happen, we've decided to just relocate the event.

Scott Carpenter Park, located at 30th and Arapahoe, seems to be like a logical pick for the new gathering spot. There are four bus lines that all have stops near here. The Stampede, Bound, Jump and the J all have stops on either 30th and Arapahoe, or 30th and Marine and pick up from various areas around Boulder.
The routes can be pulled up with a simple search in google, but picking up any of these buses from campus will take you right there. There is also parking spots around here if you chose to drive. However, as a socially responsible organization such as ourselves, we would like to discourage anyone who chooses to engage in the consumption of any illicit substances to be driving and instead to please choose the bus. The park is large enough to fit the giant crowd and isn't near the school or very close to homes.

Check out the facebook event page we've set up for this and INVITE YOUR FRIENDS. Just because they've kicked us off campus, doesn't mean its not going to happen... Lets protest by showing that the celebration will not cease simply because we can't have it on campus!

We are currently discussing with the hosts of the "4/20 Protest at CU Boulder" to merge efforts. Essentially there will be a meeting point at Broadway and Canyon at which everyone marches to campus (but not within!!!) and as a group protests the schools actions and then congregates at Scott Carpenter Park to organize for the actual festival!!!!!
This is not set in stone right now. We are still discussing. As of now the meeting will be Scott Carpenter Park
